The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
